I know many people go back and forth on whether they would live in Alamo Ranch or not. So, let’s go over some pros and cons and see if I personally could live out there.
For background, I currently work in the Helotes area and live off of Bandera/Prue with a 10 minute commute to work.
My hobbies include baking, trying new foods, getting over priced coffee, and hanging out with friends and family.
With that being said, let’s see how that all fits in to the Alamo Ranch area.
Living situation:
If I were to rent an apartment in Alamo Ranch I would probably look into Abacus Alamo Ranch or Laurel Canyon as those two are my personal favorite from the apartments I’ve showed! It would take me about 15 minutes to get to work without traffic probably a little over 20 to get home after work. Amenities are so important and the ones at these apartment are everything I would need to enjoy being at home.
The coffee scene in Alamo Ranch is what would really win me over. Summer Moon, Red Runner Coffee, Dutch Bros, Savage Coffee Co, and Sunshine Brew are all just minutes away!
There are plenty of food & dessert options, and of course a conveniently located grocery store. There are also parks, a movie theater, and other fun places to spend your weekends.
I’m sure you’re all wondering what the cons are out there, and I’ll tell you the only two cons I can think of –
- Alamo Ranch is a popular area and comes off as very congested, this causes some traffic on the road and high occupancy rates at apartments.
- Distance. While I personally wouldn’t mind being in Alamo Ranch, it is a little further out and central San Antonio wouldn’t be as accessible.
But, since I love driving and don’t mind being stuck in some traffic – I personally wouldn’t mind living in Alamo Ranch.
